Top 5 Communication Apps in Ukraine on Android in Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the Android communication app market in Ukraine saw notable activity among the top five apps. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varying trends in downloads, active users, and revenue.

Telegram experienced a fluctuating revenue trend, starting at approximately $133K in early January and peaking at around $167K in mid-February. Downloads began strong with approximately 72K in early January but showed a downward trend, closing the quarter at around 40K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 21.7M throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent pattern with no revenue throughout the quarter. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at about 77K in mid-January and ending at approximately 44K. Meanwhile, active users saw a steady increase, reaching approximately 8.6M by the end of March.

My Kyivstar: mobile services showed a decline in downloads from about 87K at the beginning of January to roughly 30K by the end of March. Active users saw a significant increase towards the end of the quarter, rising to approximately 3.5M.

Rakuten Viber Messenger experienced a stable revenue trend, starting at $14K and increasing to approximately $19K by late February. Downloads decreased from around 52K to 25K, while active users fluctuated around 20.1M.

Lastly, Messenger showed minor revenue, with a peak of about $109 in early March. Downloads and active users both declined, with downloads ending at approximately 20K and active users at 4.3M by the end of the quarter.
